Dokan Seller Verification add-on benefits the market by connecting seller social profiles to their storefront and also tell customers that the seller has a verified address and contact number. With these added to the store, customers will be more comfortable trusting your sellers.
We are breaking this process in several steps to make the workflow easier for you.
Step 1: Admin installs the plugin.
Step 2: Admin configures social site API.
Step 3: Admin configures sms gateways.
Step 4: Admin adds the widget from the backend to the storefront.
Step 5: Now admin is able to receive verification requests from sellers.
Step 6: Seller completes address or ID verification.
Step 7: Admin approve/disapprove step 6. If approves then step 7.
Step 8: Seller connects social profiles or Seller inputs Cell phone number for verification.
Admin – Configuration
This add-on installs simply like any other WordPress plugin. Just head over to WP Dashboard → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → Choose File and select the .zip file just downloaded from your account. Hit Open and Install Now.
Click Activate and you’re done!
After successfully installing and activating the add-on, you will find two new tabs- Seller Verification and Verification SMS Gateways in the Dokan → Settings panel. This is where the admin needs to work.
Social App Settings
Dokan Seller Verification support social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. For integrating your Dokan Vendor Storefront with their social media accounts, you have to create an App first. Navigate to – WP Dashboard → Dokan → Settings → Seller Verification
In this documentation we will show you how to connect Dokan with Facebook. Connecting with other social media is similar.
At first, you have to create an App. If you already have an app created just use its credentials. Otherwise, click on the Create an App button provided beside Facebook App Settings. You will be redirected to Facebook Developer platform.
Sign in with your Facebook ID and click on the Add a New App button. You will see a popup. Now, enter your App Display Name and Contact Email. Then click on the Create App ID button.
Now, you will find the Dashboard of your App. Click on the Settings. You will get the App ID and App Secret. You have to copy these two keys and paste them on Dokan Seller Verfication Settings page later.
In this stage, you have to specify a platform. Click on the Add Platform button.
Select the platform you want to add. In case of Dokan, we will be adding Website platform. Thus, click on the website icon.
Now, copy the Site URL for Facebook Settings given from the Seller Verification Settings page and paste it in Site URL under Website.
Then add the App domains including the sub domains in the App Domains field. Basically, this is the domain of your Dokan Marketplace’s web URL, so copy and paste it here. Finally, click on the Save changes button and you are done with creating your App.
Inserting the API keys
Now, you have to copy the App ID and App Secret from your Facebook App to WP Dashboard → Dokan → Settings → Seller Verification page’s App Id and App Secret filed under Facebook App Settings. Save changes.
Adding the Widget
Admin should add the Dokan Verification widget to the Store page or the verification will not display on the store front. Go to WP Dashboard → Appearances → Widgets and add drag the widget into the Store panel to the top right. Please note that the verification widget only appears on the storefront and no other pages.
Approving Verification Requests
ID and Address verification do no require anything to be configured. So, it works straight out of the box.To approve or reject seller ID verification or address verification requests go to WP Dashboard → Dokan → Seller Verification.
Setting up SMS Gateways for Verification
Admin – Configuration
The add-on also has a feature to send SMS to verify the contact number of the seller and match it with his profile. Go to WP Dashboard → Dokan → Settings → SMS Verification. In this tab, you have the all the required fields to populate from the service provider once you have registered with them. Everything else is plain and simple.
The SMS system works through a 3rd party SMS gateway provider, who will white label your SMS’s and send automatic messages to the seller’s phone.
It is totally optional and will not send more than 1 SMS, only when you want it to verify. So you do not have to worry about SMS charges.
We have implemented two famous SMS gateway service providers, Nexmo and Twilio. Any of them can be used considering your needs and user base. Even you can have accounts with both providers and place the credentials and switch anytime between them.
